Family Group Conference Coordinator - Adult Welfare

Are you, or your team, looking to use Family Group Conferencing (FGC) in adult welfare? Curious about the growing use of FGCs with adults? Then this is the course for you.

While FGCs follow a structured process, working with adults brings unique challenges that require specific knowledge and upskilling. This full Coordinator training course enables practitioners to learn about and practice the FGC process within the context of adult welfare.

Should you already be trained in FGC Coordinator within the context of Child Welfare, we also offer a one-day conversion course.

Since 2007, we’ve been delivering FGCs in adult settings - across both statutory and community-based services. This course draws on that extensive, hands-on experience to help you apply the FGC model effectively with adults.

By the end of the course, you will:

  • History, principles and objectives of the Family Group Conference approach, and its application for adults

  • The challenges clients may face

  • Preparation for a safe and successful meeting

  • Advocacy and skills to enable full participation in the decision-making process

  • Adaptations in response to varying levels of client capacity

  • Review meetings and maintaining practice standards

Led by an experienced Family Group Conference Coordinator and Manager.
